Assume that you insert or change a hyperlink in an .xsl workbook and then save it in any version of Excel in Windows 10. Then, you open the .xls workbook in Excel 2010. In this situation, the workbook is corrupted.

  1. Click Start, enter View Installed Updates in the Search Windows box, and then press Enter.

  2. In the list of updates, locate and then select update KB2881030, and then click Uninstall.

Windows 8 and Windows 8.1

  1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then select Search. If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, and then select Search.

  2. Enter windows update, click Windows Update, and then click Installed Updates.

  3. In the list of updates, locate and then select update KB2881030, and then click Uninstall.

Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP

  1. Click Start, enter Run, and then click Run.

  2. Enter Appwiz.cpl, and then click OK.

  3. Use one of the following procedures, depending on the operating system that you're running.

    • Windows 7 and Windows Vista

      1. Click View installed updates.

      2. In the list of updates, locate and select update KB2881030, and then click Uninstall.

    • Windows XP

      1. Select the Show updates check box.

      2. In the list of updates, locate and select update KB2881030, and then click Remove.
