Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2008 R2 fix release.
Symptoms
You may receive some unexpected null values in the result of any one of the following operations:
-
You import data from a data source by using Microsoft PowerPivot for Microsoft Excel 2010.
-
You refresh data in a PowerPivot workbook that was published on a Microsoft SharePoint site.
Cause
This issue occurs because of an error in the encoding logic that is used by the Vertipaq storage engine.
Note The VertiPaq storage engine is used for in-memory multidimensional databases in Excel workbooks. This includes PowerPivot workbooks on a SharePoint site.Resolution
