Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Service Pack 1, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 or Microsoft SQL Server 2012 fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2008 Service Pack 1, SQL Server 2008 R2 or SQL Server 2012 fix release.
Symptoms
When you run a Multidimensional Expressions (MDX) query in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Analysis Services (SSAS 2008), in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Analysis Services (SSAS 2008 R2) or in Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Analysis Services (SSAS 2012) before the data cache of SSAS 2008 is populated, the results of the query may be incorrect.
If the data cache is populated, the query returns correct results. Notes-
The data cache can be populated by another query.
-
This issue usually occurs when the result space has only one cell that contains data.
