Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 fix release.
Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:

You execute a BEGIN TRANSACTION statement that contains the "WITH MARK" option in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 or in Microsoft SQL Server 2012.

The marked transaction spans multiple databases (for example, approximately 100 databases) on an instance of SQL Server 2008 R2.
In this scenario, the following error message may be logged in the SQL Server error log:

Cause
This issue occurs because the allocation of an internal buffer fails when multiple databases are involved in the same marked transaction.
Note Marked transaction information is saved in the msdb.dbo.logmarkhistory table. This table contains one row for each committed marked transaction.Resolution
