This hotfix also applies to Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Analysis Services (SSAS 2014).
In Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) 2012, an MDX query does not reuse the cache after you run a the ClearCache command on a different MeasureGroup. This issue occurs when you use a non-admin role to log on as Non-Admin role.
For example, this issue occurs in the following scenario:
You restore the Adventure Works database in SSAS 2012 or SSAS 2014.
You create a role that could allow read access at the Cube level to a non-admin account.
You run an SSAS Profiler trace.
You run an MDX query on cold-cache and warm cache (the second time by using the same connection) in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) under a non-admin account.
The SSAS Profiler trace returns “Query Subcube: 1 – cache data”.
You run the ClearCache command on a different MeasureGroup in SSMS under an admin account.
You run the MDX query in SSMS under a non-admin account.
The SSAS Profiler trace returns “Query Subcube: 2 – non-cache data”.
Note Sample XMLA ClearCache command:
<DatabaseID>Adventure Works DW</DatabaseID>
<CubeID>Adventure Works DW</CubeID>
