Symptoms

When you use Microsoft SQL Server 2014, you may receive the following error during the exception handling:

<Date> <Time> spid# Error: 9002, Severity: 17, State: 4.<Date> <Time> spid# The transaction log for database '<DataBaseName>' is full due to 'ACTIVE_TRANSACTION'.<Date> <Time> spid# ex_terminator: Possible termination due to exception during stack unwinding.

Resolution

The issue was first fixed in the following cumulative update of SQL Server.

Cumulative Update 2 for SQL Server 2014 /en-us/help/2967546
