Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You configure German SQL Server 2014 Master Data Services (MDS) in a German Windows operating system.

  • You create a Date Attribute, and enter DD.MM.YYYY formatted values.

  • You create a business rule that checks whether the Date Attribute is blank, and if the answer is "yes," sets its value to a DD.MM.YYYY formatted date value.

  • You run the business rule.

In this scenario, you receive the following error message:

Error: 241, Severity: 16, State: 1Fehler beim Konvertieren einer Zeichenfolge in ein Datum und/oder eine Uhrzeit.

Resolution

Cumulative Update information

The issue was first fixed in the following cumulative update of SQL Server.

Each new cumulative update for SQL Server contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous cumulative update. We recommend that you download and install the latest cumulative updates for SQL Server:
