Symptoms

When you query the sys.dm_xe_objects dynamic management object in Microsoft SQL Server 2014 or Microsoft SQL Server 2012, the Description column in the query result might contain incorrect values.Note This problem affects only your ability to search for actions or events based on the Decription column. It does not affect your ability to use those actions or events to collect diagnostic information from the SQL server.

Resolution

Service pack information

To resolve this problem, obtain Service Pack 3 for SQL Server 2012.

Cumulative update information

This problem was first fixed in the following cumulative updates for SQL Server:

Cumulative Update 7 for SQL Server 2012 SP2

Cumulative Update 1 for SQL Server 2014 Service Pack 1

Cumulative Update 8 for SQL Server 2014
