Symptoms

You log on to a contained database as a contained database user in Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Service Pack 1 (SP1). However, when you right-click the contained database in Object Explorer and then click Properties, you receive the following error messages:

The module being executed is not trusted. Either the owner of the database needs to be granted authenticate permission or the module needs to be digitally signed. (Microsoft SQL Server Error: 15562)


Login failed for user '<contuser>' (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 18456)


Resolution

This problem was first fixed in the following cumulative update for SQL Server:

Cumulative Update 10 for SQL Server 2014

Cumulative Update 2 for SQL Server 2014 Service Pack 1

Each new cumulative update for SQL Server contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous cumulative update. Check out the latest cumulative updates for SQL Server:
