Symptoms
Assume that you have FILESTREAM data on a database, and you enable the data deduplication feature on the volume where the FILESTREAM data resides. When you try to access the FILESTREAM data or the files on the FileTable share by using Windows APIs or Windows clients, you receive the following error 0x801F0005 message:
An invalid name request was made. The name requested cannot be retrieved at this time
Resolution
The issue was first fixed in the following cumulative update of SQL Server:
Each new cumulative update for SQL Server contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous cumulative update. We recommend that you download and install the latest cumulative updates for SQL Server:
