Symptoms

Assume that you use Microsoft SQL Server 2016. When you reorganize a columnstore index on a computer that has large amounts of memory, the index reorg will consume maximum query memory which is 25% default of the server memory.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in the following cumulative update for SQL Server:

       Cumulative Update 3 for SQL Server 2016 SP1

Note: You must enable Trace flag (TF) 6404 for this fix to take effect.
