Symptoms

Assume that you use Microsoft SQL Server 2016  and 2017 service broker to send messages from one instance to another instance. When you send an Extensible Markup Language (XML) message with an image through a service broker, the session hangs.

This problem occurs because the service broker calls incorrect XML schema validation Application Programming Interface (API).

Resolution

This issue is fixed in the following cumulative updates for SQL Server:

       Cumulative Update 4 for SQL Server 2017 

       Cumulative Update 6 for SQL Server 2016 SP1

Each new cumulative update for SQL Server contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous cumulative update. Check out the latest cumulative updates for SQL Server:
