Symptoms

Assume that you use Microsoft SQL Server 2017 on Linux or Windows. When you run a query that contains a SELECT DISTINCT statement on a graph column, you receive an error message that resembles the following:

Msg 8624, Level 16, State 17, Line 2

Internal Query Processor Error: The query processor could not produce a query plan. For more information, contact Customer Support Services.

Resolution

This fix is included in Cumulative Update 2 for SQL Server 2017.
