Symptoms

Assume that you have a Linux-based computer that has more than 1 TB of RAM allocated to a Microsoft SQL Server process. When you trigger a SQL Server dump by using the DBCC STACKDUMP or DBCC DUMPTRIGGER command, you notice that the dump generation process takes a long time to finish.

Resolution

This problem is fixed in the following cumulative update for SQL Server:

       Cumulative Update 9 for SQL Server 2017
