Applies ToSQL Server 2019 on Linux

Improvement

This improvement adds a new Protection Key feature in Microsoft SQL Server 2019 on Linux. The following are some of the new features that are provided:

  • Protect Process Memory inside SQLPAL instance from overlapping memory operations that occur because of issues within SQLPAL (stray pointers, SQLPAL malfunctions, and so on)

  • Protect Data on persistent memory from being corrupted by memory scribblers (stray pointers, SQL/SQLPAL malfunctions, and so on)

Resolution

This improvement is included in the following cumulative update for SQL Server:

Note To enable this, add the following to mssql-config:

[memory]

memory_optimized = true
