Symptoms
After the January 11, 2022 Windows update is installed, Removable Volumes formatted with Resilient File System (ReFS) fail to mount or mounts as RAW.

Cause
This issue may occur because the ReFS file system is not supported on removable media, including USB External drives. As part of the January 11, 2022 update, one of the fixes impacted the ability of these unsupported volumes to be mounted.

Resolution
To resolve this issue, install the January 17, 2022 out-of-band update that is applicable for your Windows operating system. If you continue to experience this issue, contact Microsoft Support.
Note This resolution only applies to ReFS version 2 and later version volumes.
