Symptoms

After an update is completed to the first wave (early update release) of System Center Configuration Manager current branch, version 1902, management points do not reinstall. An entry that resembles the following is recorded in the Ccmsetup.log file:

ApplyDeltaLangChanges failed with error 0x80070003. Error text = ExitCode: 3 Action:  ErrorMessages:  ccmsetup C:\SMS_CCM\clientstate.dat exists after client.msi run. ccmsetup InstallFromManifest failed 0x80070003

This error occurs when a management point and the client are located on the same server, and client language packs are installed.Note This update applies only to the initial first wave release of Configuration Manager current branch, version 1902. It does not apply to environments that are updated to the globally available (Slow Ring) release of 1902.

Update information for System Center Configuration Manager, version 1902

This update is available for installation in the Updates and Servicing node of the Configuration Manager console on version 1902 sites that were installed by using the initial release of the first wave (Fast Ring) build of version 1902.

To verify which build is in use, look for a package GUID by adding the Package GUID column to the details pane of the Updates and Servicing node in the console. The update applies to installations of version 1902 from packages that have the following GUID:

  • 4588EAF0-7848-419E-9FAD-9E9A25763F38

If the service connection point is in offline mode, you must reimport the update so that it is listed in the Configuration Manager console.

You must have System Center Configuration Manager, version 1902 installed to apply this update.

Restart information

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this update.

This update does not replace any previously released update.
