This document provides information regarding the number of SSDs and HDDs that are installed in each StorSimple appliance from the factory, as well as the slots in which each type of disk should be installed.
The chart below provides the number of SSDs, HDDs, and total capacity for each StorSimple model.
The SSDs should be installed in the first disk slots in the appliance, and the HDDs should be installed in the slots immediately following the SSD slots. For example, if we say that the image below reflects a 7020 appliance, slots 0-2 will contain SSDs and slots 3-9 will contain HDDs. Slots 10-11 will not contain any disks. If we say that the image below reflects a 5520 appliance, slots 0-2 will contain SSDs and slots 3-11 will contain HDDs.
