Applies ToSystem Center 2012 Data Protection Manager

Symptoms

If you have a single server that holds the Data Protection Manager (DPM) databases from several DPM servers, the overload on the servers causes the performance to degrade in Microsoft System Center 2012 R2 DPM.

Resolution

To fix this issue, set automatic refresh jobs to run every 30 minutes by setting the following registry key:

Registry key path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Data Protection Manager\ConfigurationRegistry key name: InstallListRefreshIntervalInMinutesType: REG_DWORDBase: DecimalValue data: 30

Note If the key doesn’t exist, the default interval is 30 minutes.

Restart information

You may have to restart DPM Service (MSDPM) to apply the registry change.
