Symptoms

On a Windows Server 2003 R2-based computer that has Distributed File System Replication (DFSR) installed, some files are missing after a DFSR replication. Additional investigation indicates that these files are locked during the DFSR replication process. For example, an executable file is running during a DFSR replication, and this file has to be updated. In this situation, you will find that the executable file is missing after the executable file is closed. Additionally, the following event is added in the DFS Replication event log: Note You can obtain the name of the missing file from this event.
