Configure customizable templates

The customizable template feature can be configured and deployed across DAX Copilot on mobile or desktop.

Log into the DAX Copilot desktop application and follow these steps to configure your customizable templates:

Step 1: Select Settings at the top right corner.

Step 2: Select Manage my style to access the style wizard. If you haven’t set preferences yet, the option will appear as Configure my style.

Scroll to any of the sections that offer a customizable template option:

  • Allergies

  • Physical Exam

  • Assessment and Plan

Step 3: Scroll through the style wizard and select the  symbol to expand the Allergies section.

Then, select Customizable template under Format.

The default customizable template appears. You can either use the provided template as is, modify it to suit your needs, or replace it with a template of your own design. Learn more about customizable templates.

Repeat this process as necessary for the note sections that have a customizable template option: Allergies, Physical Exam, and Assessment and Plan.

How to apply customizable templates

Customizable templates can be applied in two ways:

  1. Auto-run: Automatically applies your default template to every new recording.

  2. On-demand: Manually apply templates when needed.

How to enable Auto-Run

When a template is set as default in the style wizard and Auto-run is enabled, it will be applied automatically to all new documents. There are two methods to enable Auto-run:

Method 1: Enable Auto-run via the Settings menu

In the Settings menu, toggle the Auto-run switch to the On position.

Method 2: Enable Auto-run via the Copilot menu

(A) Select the Copilot symbol to open the Copilot menu.

(B) Activate the "Auto-style" toggle button located at the bottom of the Copilot menu.

Apply a specific customizable template on demand

When you occasionally need to apply specialized formatting for a particular encounter or situation, you can design a customizable template and apply it to the note section as required, without making it the default format.

To manually select and apply a specific template on demand:

  1. Select Apply (template name) Template next to the section heading.

  2. The Copilot window previews the section with the template applied.

  3. Select Apply Changes to update the Summary.

  4. To revert, select Undo Changes.

Notes: 

  • Templates are available only in the Allergies, Physical Exam, and Assessment and Plan sections.

  • The Apply Template button appears only if the section contains content.

  • All customizable templates are saved as Auto-texts in Dragon and can be used without AI processing.
