Note Depending on which POS hotfixes you have previously installed, this hotfix may require an upgrade of the Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail POS database. To upgrade the database, follow these steps:

Do the following before you install the hotfix:

Make a backup of your existing store database.
-
In SQL Management Studio, view the current database version (DBversion) by running the follow SQL statement:
select * from POSISINFO
-
-
Do the following after you install the hotfix:
-
Start Retail Database Utility.
-
In the Retail POS configuration dialog box, enter information into the fields under Store database and under Identification, and then click Continue. This executes the script, if available, to upgrade your database.

In SQL Management Studio, run the SQL Statement again to verify that the database version has changed.

Symptoms
Assume that you use Microsoft SQL Server Express for Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail 2012 POS. The transaction data in POS store databases grows large to approach or exceed the Microsoft SQL Server Express database size limitation. You expect to clean out the data in the RetailTransactionTableEx5 table and older transactions in the store database. This problem occurs in the following products:

Installation information
Important To take advantage of this hotfix, you must enter the number of days that transactions should be preserved in the POS database in the Days transactions exist field in the functionality profile for each store. You must make sure that you run P jobs more frequently than the number of days that you fill into the Days transactions exist field. If you do not do this, the transactions that have not yet been pulled into Microsoft Dynamics AX will be deleted. We suggest that you run P jobs daily and delete only those transactions that are older than 30, 60, or even 90 days.
Note Depending on other hotfixes installed, you might have to upgrade the Retail POS database after you install this hotfix. If database upgrade is required, you will see a message when you run Retail POS that says the database versions do not match
If you have customizations for one or more of the methods or the tables that are affected by this hotfix, you must apply these changes in a test environment before you apply the hotfix in a production environment.

Restart requirement
You must restart the Application Object Server (AOS) service after you apply the hotfix.
The global version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later file attributes) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time item in Control Panel.
