Note:Â The Office app for iOS is currently available for iPhone only. Support for iPad will be added at a later time.
The file transfer option in the Office app lets you send files from your iPhone to your computer, and receive files from your computer or iPhone.
To transfer files, do the following:
-
In the Office app on your iPhone, tap Actions and select Transfer Files.
-
When prompted on your iPhone, select either Send or Receive.
-
On your computer, open your web browser, and then go to the URL shown on your screen.
A page showing a QR code should now open.
-
On your iPhone, point the camera at the QR code on your computer screen, and then confirm the code on your computer to finish pairing.
-
Next, do either of the following:
-
If you previously selected Send, select the files you want to transfer. The selected files will be transferred to your computer.
-
If you previously selected Receive, click Choose files to transfer on your computer, or drag and drop to this window the files that you want to transfer.
Tip:Â You can check the progress of the transfer on your iPhone. To transfer additional files, click Choose files to transfer on your computer once more.
-
-
When you have finished transferring files, close your browser, and then tap the Back button near the top left corner of your iPhone screen to return to the Home tab.
Received files are stored on your iPhone. You can view these files at any time from the Home tab.Â
Note:Â Your security and privacy are important to us. The Office app uses Microsoft online services to transfer files between your computer and your iPhone. These online services do not store any of your file content on their servers.Â
