If Focus assist (previously known as Quiet Hours) is turned on. Learn how to turn Focus assist off
For some Android devices, your Battery Optimization settings may interrupt your connection. We recommend turning it off in the Link to Windows app on your Android device.
Open Android Settings > Apps & notifications > App info > Link to Windows > Advanced > Battery > Manage Battery Usage > Battery optimization. Scroll down to Link to Windows and then select Don't optimize.
On select Android devices, the steps may be as follows:
Open Android Settings > Apps > Link to Windows > Battery > Optimize battery usage. Select All from the drop-down list, scroll to find Link to Windows, and turn the toggle Off.
Note: If you have a Samsung device and are using Secure Folders, apps and files saved there won't display notifications in the Phone Link. They'll appear only on your Android device.
My notifications have stopped syncing
Notifications work independently to other Phone Link features like messaging and photos. When they stop working, resetting the notification permissions should start the syncing process again.
On your Android device:
-
Go to Settings and search for Notification access.
-
Find Link to Windows in the list and toggle it off and then on again.
-
A popup will appear. Select Allow when prompted.
On your PC:
-
Open the Phone Link and choose Notifications.
-
Wait for your notifications to refresh — they should now sync normally.
Why are certain notifications hidden from my Phone Link feed?
Android 15 introduces new features designed with your safety and protection in mind. One of these changes, called Sensitive Notifications, uses an algorithm to identify and hide certain notifications. As a result, these hidden notifications cannot be displayed in Phone Link.
Notifications that contain two-factor authentication codes, one-item passcodes, and other sensitive content are affected by this algorithm.
Notifications marked as sensitive by your Android mobile device will have content replaced with a message stating: “Sensitive notification content hidden”.
Who is affected?
All Android device running Android 15 or later.
How can I access notifications labeled as sensitive?
Notifications marked as "Sensitive" by the Android operating system are currently blocked and cannot be displayed in Phone Link. To view these notifications, please check them directly on your mobile device.
