The usual support costs will apply to any additional support questions and issues that do not qualify for the specific update in question.

Installation information

To install the translated content or updated content in U.S. English to the Help server, complete the following steps. Save and unpack the hotfix file for the language that you are installing.

Note When you unzip the hotfix file, each .zip file produces a file named similar to this: HelpContent_pt-br.msi file. In this example, the .msi file contains Help content in Portuguese for Brazilian users (pt-br).

  1. On the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Help server, click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Uninstall a program.

  2. If an .msi file for a language that you want to update is included in the list of program, uninstall it. If you're updating Help Content for more than one language, you’ll need to uninstall the content for each language separately. If the language you are using is not listed, skip to step 7.

  3. Verify that the Microsoft Dynamics AX DVD image is copied to a network location.

  4. Open the following Microsoft Dynamics AX DVD image folder:

    Drive:\Msi\HelpContent

  5. Delete each HelpContent_language code.msi file from the corresponding language folder. For example, if you download the HelpContent_pt-br.msi file, delete the existing HelpContent_pt-br.msi file from the following folder:

Drive:\Msi\HelpContent\PT-BRNote The Uninstall a program process does not remove the .msi files.

  6. Make sure that a folder exists within the Content folder for the language that you are installing. For example, if you're installing Help content in Portuguese (Brazilian), make sure that there's a folder named PT-BR within the Microsoft folder as follows:

Drive:\Msi\HelpContent\PT-BRThe name of the folder must match the abbreviation of the language, or the language-region combination, that is used in the name of the .msi file. For example, if you’re installing French for use in Canada, the folder must be named fr-CA.

  7. Copy the PT-BR file to the corresponding language folder. For example, copy the HelpContent_pt-br.msi file to the following folder:

    Drive:\Msi\HelpContent\PT-BR

  8. From the Help server, run the Setup.exe file from the root of the CD folder.

Note If you have not installed the Help server, use the installation instructions to install the Help server. The content for the languages that you select will be installed when you install the Help server.

  9. Click Install, and then select Microsoft Dynamics AX components.

  10. Click Add or modify components, and then click Next.

  11. Select the Help Server component, and then click Next.

  12. Select the Help content to install. For example, if you want to install the HelpContent_pt-br.msi file, click Portuguese. Then, click Next.

  13. Click Install.
