This article describes an issue when you try to create Virtual Machine Queues (VMQs) in Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, or Windows Server 2012 R2. The issue is resolved in hotfix 2965178 that is described in this article, and it has a prerequisite.
Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:
-
You have Hyper-V running on a Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, or Windows Server 2012 R2- based computer.
-
You create a virtual machine switch on the load balancing failover (LBFO) by using Mellanox NIC adapters.
-
You enable Network Virtualization using Generic Routing Encapsulation (NVGRE) on the LBFO.
In this scenario, the virtual Receive Side Scaling (vRSS) does not work correctly, and the VMQs cannot be created automatically for the teamed adapters. Therefore, NVGRE cannot offload correctly.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, install the hotfix that is described in this article.
Note After you install this hotfix, all processors load balance correctly, and the network throughput is increased.Hotfix information
