This article provides a workaround on how to solve the issue that there's no data in the last period when you generate a report in Microsoft Management Reporter for Dynamics AX 2009.

Symptoms

When you generate a report in Microsoft Management Reporter for a Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 company, you do not receive data in the last period of the year on a YTD column.

Cause

This occurs if the Create closing transactions during transfer option is enabled in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009. When it is enabled, there is a zeroing out transaction created in the closing period at the end of the fiscal year. Management Reporter currently does not support this feature. Therefore MR includes these closing transactions. These transactions cause the balance of the last period to zero out. This makes the last period display a zero balance at the financial detail level in a YTD column of the MR report.

Resolution

This option is currently incompatible with Microsoft Management Reporter.

Workaround

You can disable this feature in AX by following these steps:

Important: Complete on test environment first and backup AX databases before doing any steps:

  1. Clear Create closing transactions during transfer option under General Ledger > Setup > Parameters > Ledger tab.

  2. Rerun Opening Transactions Job for that year(s) under General Ledger > Periodic > Fiscal Year Close > Opening Transactions.
