Symptoms

Assume that you have BitLocker Drive Encryption enabled on a computer that is running Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, or Windows Server 2012 R2. When Windows enters the automatic repair process for a failure during start or shutdown, you are prompted for a BitLocker recovery key to unlock the volume.

Resolution
