More Information

You cannot install the hotfix that is described in this article on some site system configurations. For example, you cannot install this hotfix on the SMS Provider server in the following configuration:

Site Server that is running System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP2

Database server for the Server A

SMS Provider server that is not a Site System server

In this configuration, you cannot install the hotfix on Server C because the System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP2 binary files are not installed on the server. To work around this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Manually copy the Osdcore.dll from Server A to Server C.

  2. Restart the WMI Service on Server C.

  3. Restart the SMS Executive Service on Server A.

Note We recommend that you move the SMS Provider back to the Site Server server before the update process to make sure that the SMS Provider server is updated automatically.
