Symptoms

When you run a Microsoft Unified Communications Managed API (UCMA) 3.0 endpoint on a Lync Server 2010 server, a Lync 2010 user might receive instant messages when the presence status of the endpoint is set to Do Not Disturb.

Cause

This issue occurs because the UCMA endpoint uses the aggregateState value instead of the userState value. This happens when the userState value is set to Do Not Disturb, and the aggregateState value is set to Away.
