Check Device Manager (Unknown hardware/software)

There might be a problem with the USB device.  To determine the problem, check Device Manager:

• In the Search box on the taskbar, type Device Manager and select Device Manager in the search results.

• Look for the device in Device Manager.  If you don't see it, expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.  Look for a yellow exclamation mark next to your device, or any of the devices under Universal Serial Bus controllers.

• If any devices have a yellow exclamation mark, right-click the device and select Properties. Look for an error code listed in the "Device status" section.
