Let’s try a few troubleshooting steps to get your network printer working again.

Note: If you’re in a hurry, you may be able to get your printer working quickly by using a USB cable if that’s possible. To do this, plug your printer directly into your PC and it should be set up automatically.

  1. Check your printer’s network connection

    • Follow your printer’s instructions to check the network connection.

    • If your printer isn’t connected to a network, follow your device’s instructions to get connected to your network.

  2. Match your PC’s network connection to your printer’s connection

    • Select Start > Settings > Network & Internet

    • Under Networking status, find your network name. This needs to exactly match the printer’s connection name.

    • If these two connections are not the same, change your PC's connection to match the printer's network.
