If the night light options are grayed out in Settings, first check your display driver.
To check your display driver:
-
Click the search box on your taskbar and type Device Manager.  Then select Device Manager in the search results.
-
Expand Display adapters
Unfortunately, the night light feature is not available if your device uses a DisplayLink driver or a Basic Display driver.
If you have a different display driver, you may need to update your display driver. The night light feature makes use of recent graphics technology. Check for updates by:
-
On Windows 11: selecting Start > Settings > Windows Update > Check for Updates.  Or visit your hardware manufacturer's support website to manually download and install the latest display drivers.
-
On Windows 10: selecting Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for Updates.
Or visit your hardware manufacturer's support website to manually download and install the latest display drivers.
