Try reconfiguring the drive using Windows Disk Management:

  • In the Search box on the taskbar, type Disk Management.  Select Create and format hard disk partitions in the search results.

  • The USB device should appear as one of the drives listed in Disk Management.

Try each of these steps in Disk Management, one at a time:

  • Set the drive letter for your USB device. Right-click the USB drive and select Change Drive Letter and Paths.  Select Change to change the drive letter, or Add to create a new drive letter.

  • Reformat the USB drive.  (Warning:  This will erase all data on the USB drive.  Skip this step if you do not want to lose any data.)  Right-click the USB drive and select Format.
