This article describes an update for Windows Embedded Compact 2013.
Before you install this update, all previously issued updates for this product must be installed.
Improvements and fixes
- Addresses an issue in which a Windows Embedded Compact 2013 device cannot authenticate with Wi-Fi Enterprise AP (EAP-TLS) that requires TLS 1.1/1.2 for authentication.
To change the TLS version supported on your device, modify the following registry location:
TLS version DWORD value TLS 1.0 0xC0 TLS 1.1 0x300 TLS 1.2 0xC00
The value of the DWORD value can be set to 0xC0, 0x300, or 0xC00, If you want to support multiple versions of TLS, you can use any OR'ed combination of these values.
Note The default TLS version is set to TLS 1.0.

Windows Embedded Compact 2013 Monthly Update (September 2019) is now available from Microsoft. To download this Windows Embedded Compact 2013 monthly update, go to the Device Partner Center (DPC).
This update is supported only if all previously issued updates for this product have also been installed.
After you apply this update, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To do this, use one of the following methods:
- On the Build menu, click Clean Solution, and then click Build Solution.
- On the Build menu, click Rebuild Solution.
You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this software update.
This update does not replace any other updates.
