KB4569837 - FIX: Intermittent connection error occurs when an expression is used for both connection string and password of a connection manager

Symptoms


Assume that you have a Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) package that has multiple parallel tasks internally, and each of these tasks shares a same connection manager. When an expression is used for both connection string and password of the connection manager, you notice that intermittent connection error that resembles the following may occur:
DateTime Logon       Login failed for user 'XXXX'. Reason: Password did not match that for the login provided. [CLIENT: <local machine>]

Status


Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

This issue is fixed in the following cumulative update for SQL Server:
