Find shape abilities and behaviors

Some shapes have special abilities and behaviors. For example, you can make a door shape open from different sides, or swing the door shape open or closed.

Find special abilities for a shape

  1. Right-click the shape.

  2. Look at the commands in the shortcut menu.

    Special abilities are listed as commands near the top of the shortcut menu. Also, check the ribbon to see if a new tab appears while the shape is selected. If so, the tab has commands related to the shape or the diagram type.

Try special shape behaviors

Some shapes have a yellow control handle Control handle . Drag the control handle to see how it affects the shape. For example, the control handle on the door shape swings the door open and closed.
