Description of the security update for SharePoint Foundation 2013: March 13, 2018

Summary


This security update resolves vulnerabilities in Microsoft Office that could allow remote code execution if a user opens a specially crafted Office file. To learn more about these vulnerabilities, see Microsoft Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures CVE-2018-0947.

Note To apply this security update, you must have the release version of Service Pack 1 for Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2013 installed on the computer.

Improvements and fixes


This security update contains improvements and fixes for the following nonsecurity issues:

  • Duplicate audit view events are generated when you click on a page from Library view.
  • If you are a mobile devices read-only user, you receive an “Access Denied” error message when you access certain features that use third-party scripts. 
  • This update addresses an issue that occurs when you set more than 10 indexes on a list and those indexes include a combination of text and non-text based fields.
