Description of the Office 2010 hotfix package (Mso-x-none): September 22, 2010

Applies to: Office Home and Business 2010Office Home and Student 2010Microsoft IIS Media Services 2.0

Summary

This article describes the Microsoft Office 2010 issues that are fixed in the hotfix package that is dated September 22, 2010.

INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • You cannot load a certain Excel OLE object in Microsoft Excel 2010. This issue occurs when the Excel OLE object was saved in a pre-Excel 2010 version of Excel.

Note Typically this problem occurs when you try to enable the OLE embedding.  A generic error message is displayed and the OLE embedding cannot be in-place enabled.

  • Office 2010 does not support certain certificates in a Windows 7 or Windows Vista environment. Specifically, these unsupported certificates use private keys that are stored by a third-party cryptographic service provider (CSP). Therefore, an Office 2010 document cannot be signed by using a Cryptographic API (CAPI).
  • You create a document that contains binary signatures in a Microsoft Office 2007 application. Then you open the document in an Office 2010 application. In this situation, the binary signatures of the document are displayed as "invalid".
