There are several ways to find out which Surface device model you have.

Look in the Surface app

The easiest way to find which Surface model you have is to use the Surface app. It shows the model name of your Surface device and each Surface accessory.

Note: When signed in to the Surface app, you can see information for other Surface devices that you've also signed in to. 

Open the Surface app

In the Surface app, expand Device information and look at the value next to Surface model.

Note: If you don't have the Surface app installed, you can download the Surface app from the Microsoft Store. When it has downloaded, select Start , search for Surface, then select the app from the list of results.

Look in Settings

  1. Select Start  > Settings  > System , then scroll down and select About .

  2. Look near the top of the window—above Device specifications—to find the Surface model information.

Look in System information

  1. Select Start , type system in the search box, then select System Information from the list of results.

  2. Look for System Model in the pane on the right.

Look at devices associated with your Microsoft account

  1. Go to account.microsoft.com/devices.

  2. Sign in to your Microsoft account, and under Devices, select Manage Devices to view your associated devices.

    If you're already signed in, your associated devices may automatically open for you to view.
