FIX: PolyBase Hadoop queries may fail when the launchpadd service is restarted or killed in SQL Server 2019

Applies to: SQL Server 2019 on Linux


Assume that you use PolyBase to run queries in Hadoop in SQL Server 2019. You may notice that the queries areunresponsive or receive an error message that resembles "The Remote JavaBridge has not been attached yet" when the launchpadd service is restarted or killed. 
Note The issue exists only in SQL Server for Linux andBig Data Cluster.


This issue may occur because Remote Hadoop bridgeprocess is not closed correctly.


Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. 


This issue is fixed in thefollowing cumulative update for SQL Server:
