Setting up audio controls within Your Phone for your Android device

The Your Phone app allows you to listen to and interact with your favorite audio player apps directly inside the Your Phone menu pane.

Here is what you need to get set up:

On your Android device:

  1. For any audio app on your device you’d like to control from Your Phone app, make sure the individual app’s notifications are turned on.  To do this, go to Settings Notifications > Select the audio app and turn Show notifications toggle On

In the Your Phone app:

  1. Go to Settings.

  1. Under Personalization, turn the toggle On for Show audio currently playing from my phone

  2. Once this toggle is on, you can start playing any of your favorite audio app from your Android device, and you will see the audio player show up in the Your Phone menu area.

  3. From this player, you can select “Previous”, “Play/Pause”, and “Next” track.

  1. If you would like to listen to audio from a different source, you can start playing that from your Android device and it will automatically switch in the Your Phone player. Use the dropdown to switch between two or more sources of audio as much as you’d like directly from the app.
