KB4547890 - FIX: ISDBUpgradeWizard.exe throws error when you try to upgrade SSISDB after restoring from earlier versions in SQL Server

Symptoms


When you try to upgrade a SSISDB that is restored in Cumulative Update 1 (CU1) or Cumulative Update 2 (CU2) for Microsoft SQL Server 2019 from earlier versions, you may notice that ISDBUpgradeWizard.exe generates the following error message:

at System.ComponentModel.BackgroundWorker.OnDoWork(DoWorkEventArgse)
atSystem.ComponentModel.BackgroundWorker.WorkerThreadStart(Object argument)

Additionally, the version of the SQL Server instance(15.0.x.x) doesn't match the version of the upgrade tool (15.0.2000).

Status


Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

This issue is fixed in the following cumulative update for SQL Server:
