Answer: In file explorer check under “Program Files\\Borland\\Common Files\\BDE” to see if the Borland Database Engine (BDE) is installed (you can also search on “BDEADMIN*.*” to test if BDE installation occurred under a different path). If the BDE is not installed, a common problem where eEnterprise is copied from one server to another, then you will have to install the BDE using the eEnterprise distribution CD.
To install the BDE, select “Additional Products” and “Manufacturing” from the installation routine on the eEnterprise CD. When you reach the “Select Components” window for Manufacturing uncheck all option except “Serial/Lot Tracking” and proceed to installation conclusion. You do not need to run anything in eEnterprise Utilities.
