In the latest release of the Microsoft Office Outlook Connector, the .msnpst file name extension has been changed to the .ost file name extension. The symptoms that are described earlier in this article may occur only for an .ost file that is associated with an Outlook Connector account but not with a Microsoft Exchange account. For example, your Microsoft MSN Hotmail account or your Microsoft MSN account may exhibit these types of symptoms.
