The "installed requirement components" report indicates that the Visual C++ runtime components are missing when you install Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0

Applies to: Dynamics CRM 4.0

Symptoms

When you install Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, the "installed requirement components" report indicates that the Microsoft Visual C++ runtime components are missing. However, the Visual C++ runtime components are already installed on the computer on which you install Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

Cause

This problem occurs because the Setup program of Microsoft Dynamics CRM must install the Visual C++ runtime components, even if the components are already installed.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, use one of the following methods.

Method 1

If the computer has an Internet connection, you can safely ignore the message. The Setup program of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 automatically downloads and installs the Visual C++ runtime components.

Method 2

If you must install Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Microsoft Office Outlook, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services Data Connector, and E-mail Router on a computer that does not have an Internet connection, follow these steps.

  5. Create the following folder structure in the folder that you created in step 1:
