In Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Analysis Services (SSAS 2014), a configuration option is added that lets you skip the verification of whether the data source for a dimension and a partition are the same when you run a Relational Online Analytical Processing (ROLAP) query.
Assume that the ROLAP parameterized query contains a JOIN statement between the partition and dimension tables. This setting will cause the query to always be run on the server on which the partition data resides instead of pulling the dimension and partition data to the SSAS server when they are not in the same data source.
To enable this option, set the SkipROLAPDatasourceMatching entry in the msmdsrv.ini file to a value of 1.
Note Using this setting requires the dimension data tables to be present on each relational database server that contains a ROLAP fact partition table.
