- You have a failover cluster that is running in Windows Server 2012 R2 or Windows Server 2012.
- You add a GPT-format physical disk together with multiple partitions on the cluster.
- You install a Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) hardware provider, and then you take a VSS snapshot of the disk.
- You enable maintenance mode, and then you put the volume into maintenance mode.
