You find that network interface cards (NIC) that are teamed (also known as Load Balancing/Failover or LBFO) disappear from component listings in Windows Server 2012 R2. This causes the Hyper-V Virtual Switch (vSwitch) to become private, or isolated. This problem can also cause many additional problems. For example, the clustering service may generate the following error message:
The virtual machine requires a highly available virtual switch connection and the host network adapter is not attached to a highly available virtual switch.
