A DST update for Morocco Ramadan for the year 2014 is available

Summary

After you install the Fix it solution that is provided in Microsoft Knowledge Base article 2974661 on a Windows 8.1-based or Windows Server 2012 R2-based computer, the date on which the system is set to transition out of the Ramadan observation period for 2014 in Morocco may be incorrect. The date may be set to July 29 at 2 A.M. instead of the expected date of August 2 at 2 A.M.

This problem occurs because of a date issue in Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 that causes the "Ramadan end" date setting to be overwritten.

Update information

A supported update is available from Microsoft Support. Users must install this update before July 29, 2014 in order to have the correct date set to transition from the Ramadan observation period back to standard daylight saving time for 2014 in Morocco.
